Tokilla is a locally handcrafted bag brand, offering a collection of handmade toquilla bags inspired by natural tones and traditional weaving techniques. This project involved designing a clean, modern, and functional e-commerce website that showcases their elegant range of products, from handbags to home decor items. The primary goal of the design was to reflect the artisanal craftsmanship of Tokilla's products while providing an intuitive, seamless shopping experience for their customers.

Brand Identity: Create a website that reflects Tokilla’s artisanal values and natural aesthetic.

Responsive Design: Ensure the design is fully responsive and optimized for mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
Product Highlight: Emphasize the unique qualities of each product, particularly the artisanal craftsmanship behind each bag.

Problem

Tokilla, a local artisan bag brand, lacked an online platform, limiting their reach to offline markets and social media. Without an e-commerce website, customers had no convenient way to browse or purchase products. Additionally, their brand identity was fragmented, making it difficult to stand out in a crowded market. Key challenges included low engagement, lack of product storytelling, and a poor digital presence, all of which hindered Tokilla’s ability to connect with a broader audience and showcase the craftsmanship behind their products.

Solution

I designed a responsive e-commerce website that reflects Tokilla’s artisanal craftsmanship and natural aesthetic, creating a seamless online shopping experience. The solution included a cohesive brand identity with a new logo, color palette, and typography, paired with detailed product pages that highlight the unique stories behind each item. Key features like wishlists, newsletters, and a “Tokilla Club” for exclusive offers improved customer engagement, while mobile optimization ensured a smooth experience across all devices, boosting online sales and brand recognition.

Introduces the brand with impactful imagery of the products, conveying the natural elegance of toquilla weaving. The homepage includes featured products, collection categories, and a newsletter sign-up for exclusive offers.

Product Detail Pages

Highlight each product’s craftsmanship, with large images, descriptions, and detailed product care information. Users can easily add items to the cart or wishlist.

Product Listing Pages

Organized into clear categories like 'Handbags', 'Shigras', and 'Baskets,' allowing users to easily browse through the available products with filters for price, color, and style.

Cart Page

A clean and simple cart page that summarizes the user’s selections with an order summary, shipping details, and coupon application feature for discounts.

Design Approach

Color Palette: The palette combines earthy tones inspired by the natural materials used in the products, with touches of green and beige to keep the interface organic and authentic.

Typography: The typography features a balance between a modern serif for headlines and a clean sans-serif for readability. This maintains the brand’s elegant and refined look while ensuring readability.
